A SHORT HISTORY
In the days before mass media, one sure way of capturing a customer's eye was a good poster. Colorful images, great big letters, sales, sales, sales... Printed by the thousands and thrown up everywhere, they did everything from sell war bonds to promote good labor and conservation practices to recruiting for the armed forces. They did a wonderful job.

ABOUT PRESERVATION
At the end of their useful service, whatever agency of the government was responsible for the posters gathered up one of each, folded them as many times as possible, and mailed them good and flat to the National Archives...which is where we found them. Preserved as 35mm slides, they retain not only their original information; but every fold, tear, coffee stain and photographic artifact they ever gathered on their long journey into history.
F
rom time to time, as we reproduced them, some tasteful customer would come along who really wanted the original poster, but without the built up grime. So, for a small premium, we set about cleaning and repairing them as best we could. The small collection presented here represents our better results. They are not all perfect, but they are as near to the original as our humble talents can make them.

ABOUT SIZES
For purposes of reproduction we have priced our prints according to standard sizes. However, these being the products of various government bureaucracies, few achieve those standards perfectly. So, often, a 24" x 20" comes out as 24" x 18". We do our best to reach the desired size.
R
emember, we keep no inventory of pre-printed work. Every poster you order is printed one at a time, just for you.
